last days in nanjing

after three weeks of six day weeks, nanjing had killed me. we finished our work and were treated to farewell meals and shopping trips...

my awesome electric bike, it was a 45 min commute to work, every day, twice...

the director and thom discuss the script

girl in a bubble...

underground ladies square...

sharing a funny with the crew...

pop star

near the end of the stay we were invited to record some diologue for the teaser! i got the lead character, no pressure. was a blast though, really quiet and lonely in there, with 20 people all laughing at you on the other side of the glass.....

our studio

the jiangsu television studio's animation branch is kitted out with some fancy stuff, lovely wacoms and pcs, groovy sliding doors everywhere and the best air conditioning in nanjing. our home for three weeks

beautiful purple mountain

on a sunny sunday some lovely fellas from the jiangsu television station took us to the wonderful purple mountin of nanjing. there we found the biggest staircase ever, and very many temples and locales for juggling :)

the whole of the staircase.....

flipping hot and tiring, plus many people wanted pics with english faces so we had to stop for photos everywhere!

then we found a lovely outdoor theatre where i did much juggling...

beautiful gardens
and a cool, tall temple...
tomo takes a gander...
a heightened danger of getting drowned near a pond.
goodbyes :)

jugglinz

i made a big effort to juggle lots in jiangsu....
i practiced everyday after lunch for 30 mins, and got out my balls for all to see in the streets... waiting for buses... shopping and even once on a stage :) the chinese quite liked my balls, i had a security attendant trying to learn at one point...

we found a lovely theatre with a cool stage surrounded by fountains, i had to juggle.

worth a try eh...?

bollocks.

a temple on the purple mountain....

found some look-a-likes in the confusious temple...

be well :D

Thom's Nanjing tour...

...our fabulous guide, thom from the studio showed us some of the noteworthy sights of the city on sunday, our first views of nanjing...

wishes..... visitors to the nanjing temple write wishes on tiny boards, thousands hang from string surrouning the temple tower, amazing...

when the ink fades, your wish has been heard.

curly insence by the wishes

on making a donation to the temple a bhudda statuette is lit in your name...

... just one wall of donations in the temple tower...

...the lovely temple, shame about the gift shop.

a walk by the lake...

crazy pedalos! we took a normal one to fit us all but these mad ones have guns in front with lasers!

the city to the north west.

and a welcome dinner from the lovely fellas of the studio.

I'm sorry for the lack of images of outside the temple, I'll update with some of my fellow traveller's pics. good luck to my rents and sisters for spain!
